OUR PROJECT DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

Like any project, there needs to be a plan. In Viasoft™ we lead all of our clients through organized, well supported steps to bring their ideas to a successful IT solution. Each step produces a physical outcome for the clients review and approval. The total planning and development process generally takes around 1 to 2 weeks for a small project, 3 - 5 weeks for a medium-sized project and 2 - 9 months for a large project. If the project requires a quick turnaround, we can do it much faster, however the most creative work requires more development time.

Our project development life cycle involves these important stages:

THE PROCESS

1	Analysis: We determine how the application is enriched with the current IT system, how the application is going improve your business, how the application will join the existing system, if its a website, then who the target audience is and what the function of the website will be, i.e. commerce, information, support, and communication, just to name a few. DURATION: 1-2 days

2	Prototype Design: We develop a demo outline of the functionality of the website - the nuts and bolts of how the application will look and work. The custom-designed prototype consists of layouts and navigation trees offering variations in colour and positions. The prototype can have functionality for the client to view the project in action. The client is encouraged to provide existing documentation and graphics related to the project content. Most importantly, the client will approve a final prototype design for the project. DURATION: 3-7 days

3	Content Development: The client provides us with the required messages that brings the project to life. If it's a software application, then we might require some existing paperwork prototypes and if it's a website application then we'll require information like your company profile and contact information and more. This is most important for website solutions. DURATION: This is dependent on how quick the client provides it's required business information and messages.

4	Coding/Programming: Working with the project prototype design, the expert developers of Viasoft™ will create the complete project for a beta release. DURATION: This varies with the complexity of the project.

5	Testing: Intense testing of the website functions of software modules, including data processing time, load time and navigation are key to a successful project. Viasoft™ will fix any bugs; make corrections or changes as requested by the client. DURATION: 1-2 Weeks (May take longer for large projects.)

6	Promotion - Getting your site noticed: For web applications, making sure the project reaches the target audience involves intense Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Viasoft™ realizes site promotion is an ongoing process, much like advertising, websites need to be evaluated on a regular basis to check the success of promotion. You can also take advantage of our Digital Brochure Pack to promote your software, website or a new product. DURATION: This is continuous if the client's website is maintained by Viasoft™.

7	Maintenance and Updating: Like all cycles, website development is ongoing. Once the beta release is in use, it needs to keep up to date and fresh looking. Viasoft™ is committed to providing the needed support to maintain the viability and success of the website. When a client’s site needs updating, they have two available choices. If it is a text or simple image update, this can usually be achieved by our VS WebManager™ content management software which we develop to suit your website. If preferred, Viasoft™ will provide these routine updates for you. If your company needs programming or design changes, we will always be there to service your needs. DURATION: This is continuous if the client's website is maintained by Viasoft™.
